Meet the Chef

Originally from London, England, Chris Ivens-Brown is one of Charlotte’s favorite culinary personalities. Chef CIB gained international respect for his Sustainability efforts on behalf of the world’s largest foodservice company. He is a passionate advocate for simple, fresh, everyday sustainability. CIB wants to help make the earth’s bounty available for future generations.

Hosting Charlotte SHOUT for thousands of people and working with names like Wolfgang Puck, Alton Brown, Sara Moulton, Martin Yan and Anthony Bourdain have prepared Chef CIB for the notoriety that comes with success. Chris’s goal is to leverage his exposure to teach people about the importance of sustainable food choices and the ease with which they can be made.

Sharing his knowledge and gift for cooking is one of CIB’s greatest attributes. Having developed over 3,500 recipes for hundreds of thousands of people gives Chris Ivens-Brown a great knowledge base and real-world feedback for mastering his culinary craft. He’s taught at world-class institutions such as Johnson & Wales and donated his talent and teaching skills for countless charity events for organizations including the American heart Association, Loaves and and Fishes, Classroom Central and Make-A-Wish.

In the early 2000’s At Home with Chef Chris introduced CIB to the fast-growing market of Charlotte, North Carolina and its surrounding regions. After 2 successful seasons, Chris began focusing his time on the live broadcast of Charlotte SHOUT, a free culinary festival attracting hundreds of thousands of food fans. That success lead him to his latest TV project, PLANETOPLATE, which is currently under development.
